Expert review of The Arches

Award-winning modern foodie restaurant.

This long established restaurant – with past visitors including the Duke of Edinburgh – was fully refurbished in 2007 and retains its reputation for gourmet food and excellent service.

Food and drink:

It offers French Mediterranean food with flair and international touches. The menu varies but here’s a sample starter to give you a flavour: Wagyu-Kobe beef carpaccio with mustard and honey glaze, roasted figs and iced gazpacho.

Ambience:

It's a smart modern restaurant with comfortable seating and plenty of space between tables so you can chat in privacy and without interruption. It's very popular with well-off Maltese as well as visitors.

Service:

The service is excellent.

Location:

In the middle of Mellieha, it's not far from the church square.

Price advice:

Starters are mostly 12-15 euros, and mains 25-38 euros.
