Expert review of Lolina Vintage Cafe
Sink into a battered leather armchair or sit at a formica table and get into the groove at Lolina. This is one of the new wave of places that is changing the face of Malasana from scruffy to hippy chic, shabby chic, boho chic or whatever the latest buzz phrase is.
Come here for breakfast (even if that means sometime in the afternoon) and enjoy the great coffee, tea, juices and smoothies, which will perk you up enough to provide the mental clarity to decide whether you fancy a croissant, something tasty on toast or a sandwich. The morcilla black pudding and pumpkin jam panini packs quite a punch if you think you’re up to it. There are also salads, and some great cakes. You may well find you’re still around when they start mixing the cocktails.
The furniture, lamps and mirrors date back to the 50s, 60s and 70s, there is mellow music and an impossibly cool vibe going on. Free WiFi too.
Friendly.
Calle Espiritu Santo is in the heart of Malasana, a neighbourhood of bars, cafes and independent shops.
Basic breakfast is just 2.50 euros. Salads are 8 euros. Tostas (thick toast with savoury toppings are around 4 euros).
