Expert review of El Viajero
Buzzy restaurant and bar that encapsulates the La Latina vibe.
Much loved by locals and very popular with visitors, El Viajero is one of those really useful places that we always end up going to. Why? Because there’s an informal restaurant on the ground floor, pavement tables for food or just coffee or drinks, a bar/club on the first floor and a great roof terrace too.
Food and drink:
Regulars usually go for the excellent Argentinian steaks, but there are also salads, pasta dishes, carpaccios and tapas to share. A cocktail or two on the roof terrace is a great way to while away a summer evening.
Ambience:
Always lively with an interesting-looking crowd.
Service:
Waiting staff are remarkably smiley and chatty considering they’re often rushed off their feet.
Location:
On a prime corner site in the heart of the La Latina area.
Price advice:
Mains are around 10-15 euros and there is a three course lunch for 11.80 euros.
