Expert review of Marco's Churreria

Marco's churros - as much an institution as a sugary snack.

The favourite breakfast of students, clubbers and everyone with a sweet tooth, Marco has been serving up light and crispy churros from his static churreria for the last 15 years. I have to confess to being a churro addict who has to work hard not to succumb to temptation more than a few times a year but when I do give in, it's usually at Marco's.

Food and drink:

It serves allegedly the best churros in the south and I wouldn't argue. Sweet doughnut batter in a large wheel shape, deep fried, cut into fingers and served with hot chocolate for dipping into. Marco's also serves hotdogs but it's the churros that are a must.

Ambience:

A sunny outside terrace is always busy with shoppers, visitors and Canarios having their first or second breakfast.

Service:

Efficient and friendly, everyone gets served quickly.

Location:

It's parked alongside the pavement outside the cultural centre in Los Cristianos.

Price advice:

Churros and chocolate for 2.50 euros - a bargain if ever there was one.
