Expert review of Sinatra
With all the Sinatra ties to Vegas, it's incredible nobody thought to do this before. Sinatra is a Frank-themed restaurant in the Encore hotel that comes with the official seal of approval of the Sinatra family. There are pictures of Old Blue Eyes on the walls, his music croons through the speakers and the menu nods to him with the names of the dishes. If you're not a Rat Pack fan when you come in, you'd better be by the time you come out.
Upscale Italian fare, from Caprese salads to lasagna and "Frank's spaghetti and clams" with white wine and a garlic broth. The menu's pretty limited - for mains there are just four pasta dishes, four fish and five meat dishes - but the quality is extremely high, so you won't be disappointed. They've honed these dishes to absolute perfection.
It's very upscale (because it's in Encore for a start) and the atmosphere's quite retro, because of the theme. But everyone's there to enjoy themselves, so it's actually surprisingly relaxed.
It's pretty impeccable but formal, too. This is a restaurant for couples, predominantly, so waiters ramp up the romance.
In Encore, which is pretty much as far north as you need to go on the Strip.
Mains from US$26 (the pasta dishes) but most of the meat dishes are around the US$45 mark. However, the restaurant has an exceptionally good value "Taste of Sinatra" pre-theatre menu for $59 for three courses. Call for availability.
Ask for a table near the patio. The garden is pretty to look at.
