Expert review of Queen Victoria Pub
The Queen Vic opened to great local fanfare in June 2010, just in time for the World Cup, and since then it's gone from strength to strength. Owned by expats, it's a fun place to drink and get some home-style food in a completely incongruous setting - the slightly downmarket Riviera casino. Only in Vegas!
Far more than what you usually get from a "British pub" in America - you've got your normal fish and chips, chip butty and ham sandwich pub food, as well as a "colonial" menu of curries. And it's all pretty genuine pub standards - as in, the quality won't change the world but it's a lovely comfort food for when you miss home.
Just like a pub back home. Plenty of people propping up the bar, and it's pretty quiet apart from peak times and sports games, when it gets full of expats and UK holidaymakers.
Most of the staff are British but they've been trained in American standards of friendliness. Food comes quickly, too.
The Riviera's in the wilderness of the north Strip - it's about a 20 minute walk north from Wynn.
Sandwiches are around the US$7 mark. Hot meals cost more, though.
