Expert review of Picasso
The Bellagio's flagship restaurant, Picasso is one of the stock places for romance on the Strip. I never know where to look - inside, where the walls are clad in real Picassos, or outside, where the Bellagio fountains are in full swing. The food's traditional, but of an excellent standard.
For one of the poshest restaurants on the Strip, Picassos is actually surprisingly good value, thanks to its prix fixe menu. You can choose between a standard four course menu or a five course tasting menu - both are fairly seafood heavy, and dishes are inspired by French and Spanish cuisine. You have over 1500 bottles of wine to choose from as an accompaniment.
I think the four course prix fixe menu is the best deal - try the sauteed ruby red shrimp, and splash out on a wine pairing too.
Uber-smart, uber-formal. Think of it as if you're eating in an art gallery! This is one of the main hotspots couples come for a romantic night out when they get to Vegas.
Formal but attentive. The staff's attention on you is as keen as your attention to the fountain display.
The Bellagio's plum in the centre of the Strip, and the restaurant sits on Lake Bellagio, meaning you have spectacular views not only of the fountains, but also of the Eiffel Tower across the Strip at Paris.
The prixe fixe is the cheapest menu, and that's US$113. A wine pairing is US$53.
As close to the windows as possible.
