Expert review of Nobu

The Vegas branch of sushi's most famous chain.

If you've never been able to swing a table at Nobu in London, this could be your chance - it being Vegas, reservations aren't essential. I haven't eaten at the London branch but I have here, and the food is fantastic. Just be aware that it's in the Hard Rock, so the party atmosphere pervades the place.

Food and drink:

There's a huge variety of sushi, sashimi and tempura and the quality's as good as you'd expect. There are a few "main course" style meat dishes, but if you're not into sushi, this really isn't the place for you.

Recommended dishes:

The black cod with miso in a lettuce cup is one of the best things I've tasted in Vegas.

Ambience:

Smart but trendy. It's in the Hard Rock, so there's a party atmosphere - a lot of the guests are pretty young, and they're all dressed up.

Service:

I'm not a fan of the Hard Rock's service in general, but this bucks the trend - it's pretty good.

Location:

Off the Strip in the Hard Rock. You'll need to taxi it if you're staying centrally.

Price advice:

It depends on what you order, of course, but you won't get out for less than US$100 per head.
