Best for Outdoor dining - Expert review of Mon Ami Gabi
With one of the best locations on the Strip, you’d think that Mon Ami Gabi would charge sky high prices. In fact, I stayed away for ages because I didn’t want to blow my budget. My mistake – the prices are fantastically reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the spectacular views – it’s on the Strip, right opposite the Bellagio fountains.
French bistro food – from steaks and sandwiches to crepes and salads. It’s all delicious, too. There’s a good wine selection, and coffee comes served in bowls – breakfast here is a joy.
I like the seafood crepe – prawns and vegetables in a creamy sauce and a so-light-you-could-be-in-France crepe.
Considering the prices, it’s pretty smart. The inside is dark, like a traditional bistro, while the patio outside and the conservatory are bright and airy. It’s a delight.
The French speaking servers are distinctly American in their friendliness. Food comes out quickly, too – almost too quickly, if you’re enjoying the view.
In Paris, directly on the Strip, and opposite the Bellagio fountains. It doesn’t get better than this.
Expect to pay around US$20 per head.
You can reserve tables inside, but not in the conservatory or the patio - and that's the glory of the place. I've never had trouble getting a table outside, though. Just try not to arrive at peak times to avoid any waiting.
