Expert review of Hachi

This great, laid back Japanese restaurant is Red Rock's top draw.

This Japanese restaurant - run by Linda Rodriguez, who studied with Nobu - is my favourite restaurant in Red Rock. It's seriously swanky, design-wise, but it's always nice and empty and service is very friendly. The menu's unpretentious, too, and staff are always happy to advise you.

Food and drink:

Plenty of sushi along with Japanese curry and seabass fishcakes. The food's great and there's a sense of fun to the menu - like the spicy LSD roll and the little sumpin' sumpin'. The cocktails aren't too numerous, but they're excellent quality.

Recommended dishes:

The Tempura Shrimp is a great starter - it comes with spicy sauce, too.

Ambience:

Really relaxed, despite the fashion victims on the door. There's a range of people here, and a lot of locals (this is largely a locals casino).

Service:

Very friendly, staff are happy to advise, and food arrives quickly.

Location:

In Red Rock casino in Summerlin, down the road from the glorious Red Rock Canyon.

Price advice:

Mains from US$16, sushi from US$6 and there's also a great 38 for under $8 section to the menu: 38 dishes that cost under $8.
