Expert review of Jardín de Cactus
I think this little cafe and restaurant is really special. Where else in the world can you sit in a volcanic bowl surrounded by giant cacti? Try to come here just after lunch or just before closing to avoid the bus tours, when it is a very relaxing spot.
Spanish snacks, tapas and sandwiches are on the menu here, along with coffee, beer and wine.
The spacious terrace has a spectacular backdrop of volcanic landscape, giant cacti and big skies.
This is essentially a cafe, so dont expect silver service, although the staff here are helpful enough.
It's in the middle of the Cactus Garden in the village of Guatiza on a main road.
Expect to pay around 3 euros for a coffee and 5 euros for a sandwich.
You can't book, but try to get a table on the terrace.
