Trendy waterfront café serving great breakfast and light Mediterranean fare.

Relaxed, refined Aşşk Kahve (“Love Café”), with its tasty food and stunning views, is a popular place to enjoy breakfast along the Bosphorus, and is one of my favourite Istanbul luxuries.

Ambience: 

The cobblestone courtyard’s canvas chairs and wooden tables under big white umbrellas are full of young couples and other members of Istanbul’s glamour set.

Service: 

The hip staff could be more attentive.

Location: 

Reach the secluded spot on the Bosphorus waterfront by following the stairs that run down behind the Macrocenter supermarket on the main road.

Price advice: 

Main dishes are in the 15 lira to 30 lira range.

Other useful branches: 

A new branch in trendy Nişantaşı has the same menu and casual-chic vibe, but alas, no view.
