Ibiza's finest Italian restaurant with million dollar yachts moored on its doorstep.

Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen here in Ibiza, but nothing beats Trattoria del Mar for me – by far and away my favourite spot for a long, luxurious lunch all year round.

Food and drink: 

Homemade pastas and fresh seafood, cooked in the finest, richest Italian fashion.

Recommended dishes: 

I’m currently obsessed with the über-rich four-cheese taglierini, and a very good friend of mine is equally as obsessed with the papardelle al bogavante, a huge portion of pasta with chunks of fresh lobster. All the homemade pastas are exquisite to tell the truth, just pick your favourite flavours. All I’m saying is… save some room for dessert – these guys really know their stuff!

Ambience: 

It’s always jovial here, with a warm, welcoming Italian family vibe.

Service: 

Perfecto! They always seem to know exactly what you want, when you want it, without ever fawning all over you.

Location: 

Right in the heart of Marina Botafoch, with million dollar yachts parked outside and stunning views across the port to Dalt Vila.

Price advice: 

The three-course set lunch menu is just 18.50 euros, while main meals are between 16 and 25 euros.

Tables to book: 

In summer, be sure to book early for a table out on the sunny terrace.
