A shiny new gourmet pizza restaurant on the famous San Antonio sunset strip.

Set on the ground floor of the promenade’s oldest building, Mint Lounge adds a sophisticated element to the tourist mecca that is the sunset strip. I like it for a quick pizza and sunset session, making the most of the amazing view without having to jostle the crowds or be bombarded by dance music!

Food and drink: 

Pizza with a gourmet twist, Italian mezze-style snacks, hearty pasta and amazing cocktails. In the morning however, I steer away from the Mediterranean options and opt for the English breakfast.

Recommended dishes: 

My absolute favourite is the pizza topped with lamb ragu and rocket. Don’t be alarmed if your pizza is a wonky shape, they simply bake them as they throw them, a cool touch if you ask me.

Ambience: 

Slightly more chilled than its famous neighbours, and always packed with tourists at the magical hour of sunset.

Service: 

You may feel a little bit set upon as the multi-lingual hosts try to entice you in as you walk along the boardwalk, but once you’ve settled in the service is fast and friendly.

Location: 

Right on the edge of San Antonio’s famous sunset strip, next door to famous “big sister” Café Mambo, the views are breathtaking from day through til night and the atmosphere is always vibrant.

Price advice: 

A pizza will set you back around 12 euros, breakfast 6 euros and cocktails are well priced at just 6 euros - amazingly cheap by Ibiza standards.

Tables to book: 

Call ahead to guarantee the frontline sunset tables for an uninterrupted view of the sun sinking into the sea.
