Expert review of Cococabana
Chef/owner John Paul Gauci picked a winner with the location, and followed up with the menu and décor. I have a lot of happy (albeit blurred) memories of watching the sun go down (come up?) here.
It's very much Mediterranean, full of flavour and with plenty of wine to go with it.
The Piri Piri prawns are Coco's signature dish.
Get the sun out, and it's heaven. Even on less balmy days, this is a fun place to be, sand between the toes and party music playing.
The staff enter into the spirit of things, and are swift and efficient to boot.
It's on the south side of Hong Kong Island, right on the beach.
It's very reasonable - assuming it's not a very long lunch (or dinner) you should pay around HK$350 per head.
