Expert review of El Lido

This is a restaurant that truly deserves its Michelin star.

The octagonal dining room, live sultry piano, enormous glistening chandeliers and panoramic views all make me want to keep revisiting this upscale restaurant in the Las Dunas Hotel. And that’s before I’ve even seen the latest offerings on the ever-changing menu!

Food and drink:

This is gourmet cuisine at its finest. It’s seriously good food with a European/Asian mix. From fresh lobster in a saffron sauce, duck breasts flown in from the most exclusive farms in the north of France, to sweet crepes doused in the finest cognac and decorated with the ripest oranges from Seville, you can see why I like it.

Ambience:

An easy sophistication pervades the decadent dining room with its large round tables, gold and black pillars, and red velvet upholstered antique-imitation chairs. You can also dine on the terrace in the summer months.

Service:

Sleek and efficient, the staff will make you feel special.

Location:

It's in the prestigious Hotel Las Dunas, which is right on the beach on the east side of town.

Price advice:

It is about 40 euros a head for a two-course dinner.
