World-class food from a Michelin-starred chef.
Restaurant Martin Wishart is a destination restaurant. If you have any excuse to go - go. And if you don't - make one up. The food really is sublime and the moment you taste it you understand why this man has a Michelin star: every dish is a work of art, lovingly produced and presented with the most eye-watering precision.
The restaurant can be a little quiet in terms of volume, as there is a near reverential hush as dishes emerge from the kitchen to the delight of the wide-eyed diners.
Food and drink:

Recommended dishes:
The six-course tasting menu is a real experience. It's a myriad different tastes and textures.
Ambience:
It is a bit hushed, unless you're in with a big crowd. Having said that, this is all about food as it should be.
Service:
The service is impeccable and part of the whole Michelin deal - so it is formal and rather fussy. It goes with the territory and you can't fault it.
Location:
The Shore in Leith is opposite the water of Leith, a 10-minute taxi from the centre of town.
Price advice:
An a la carte meal will set you back around £60, the tasting menu is £65; and the menu of the day at lunchtime costs £27.50.
