Expert review of La Maison Des Gourmets
The cute blue exterior is good enough to eat and in this case, you can judge the book by the cover. This is a quaint and romantic French restaurant, with a passionate and talented French chef at the helm.
It's French through and through using the freshest Irish seafood and meat; duck, steak, veal, pigeon etc.
Regulars return for the seafood. The tarte tatin dessert is made to share!
Light and informal, it's all about the food.
It's slick, French style.
It's a super location for people watching between George's Street and Grafton Street.
The restaurant is open all day Saturday and Sunday, so the best value can be had then when you can sit for hours.
Downstairs is more intimate and fun as it's nearest the kitchen.
Olivier Quenet is the passionate French chef at work here and he's punching above his weight in Dublin - he owns another restaurant, Olivier's Eatery, in Terenure, Dublin, and he recently designed the new menu for School House Hotel.
