Expert review of Coppinger Row
Each time I eat here, I run into someone I know. Coppinger Row is very much of the 'now' and everyone in Dublin is popping in every other weekend. It's a super spot for groups as the atmosphere is welcoming and social, and when the sun is shining, there's nowhere else you'd rather be when the large floor-to-ceiling windows at the front are left open. The food is good, not wonderful, but there's lots of Mediterranean influence to keep the dishes interesting.
There are light dishes and plenty of salads, with seafood and a vegetarian influence - you'll be satisfied but not stuffed, so it depends on your hunger levels. The food, like the atmosphere, is social, there are plenty of dishes that are made to share. Fresh ingredients are the star of the show. The Sunday brunch Bloody Mary is damn good!
The falafel salad is delicious. The duck rillette is also delicious and generous.
It's lively at weekends, the din of chatter is audible when you turn the corner of Coppiner Row (it's the name of the lane), and perfect for social gatherings. It's also ideal for people watching as this is a busy thoroughfare between Grafton and George's Street.
It depends on how many groups are in the house! A bit hit and miss, but you're too busy chatting to worry about it.
It's off South William Street, between Grafton and George's Street areas.
Parties of six or more incur a 12.5% surcharge.
The tables along the wall are the most comfortable and spacious.
