A popular wine bar with some excellent views.
At some point in your visit to Dubai, you'll probably find yourself in the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, a winding maze of stone-walled corridors themed on the traditional Arabic market, surrounded by a series of Venetian-style waterways (complete with gondolas), and packed full of excellent restaurants and bars. If wine's your thing, then you'll be pushed to find a better spot than The Agency, located towards the back of the complex, with incredible views out towards the Gulf and the Burj Al Arab hotel.
Food and drink:
Wine is the main event here and the menu is international and excellent. There are snacks to be had too, mainly of the lah-di-dah variety, including crab, prawns and foie gras. A popular choice is the cheese fondu, which comes in a bubbling pot with an endless supply of bread.
Ambience:
This is a popular nightspot and gets noisy with chatter and the clink of glasses from about 7pm onwards. It gets a mixed crowd of tourists and the local business community, with suits happily mingling with shorts and flip flops.
Service:
Almost always excellent. Don't expect to ever have to top up your own wine glass.

The Agency is sat at the back of the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, by the Jumeirah Beach coastline.
Price advice:
Bottles vary from the reasonably to the astronomical. Generally, a bottle of the house variety will cost around 120 dirhams, but there are always different deals on. Currently, on Wednesdays you can get either five glasses from a variety of wines, or a bottle from the list, for 100 dirhams.
Tables to book:
If the temperature is on your side, try to get a table outside to experience the views.
