Best for Romance - Expert review of Las Rocas

Unbeatable views from a platform over the Atlantic Ocean.

I'm really including Las Rocas first and foremost for its stunning views which make it the perfect romantic venue, particularly if you dine at sunset.

Food and drink: 

It's gourmet Canarian/Mediterranean fusion cuisine with fish and seafood dominating the menu.

Ambience: 

Sophisticated, friendly and relaxed with a cosmopolitan mix of diners from Eastern and Northern Europe, many of them guests of the Jardín Tropical Hotel.

Service: 

I dined here just a few weeks ago and the service was professional, friendly and attentive. All dishes arrived piping hot and together and our personality waiter - Julio - paid us just the right amount of attention.

Location: 

The a la carte restaurant for the Jardin Tropical Hotel, the restaurant sits just off the promenade walkway at the edge of the Las Rocas Beach Club on a platform jutting out over the cliffs.

Price advice: 

It's not the best value for money around, in my view menu prices are on the high side for the standard of food but I guess that view comes at a price. Starters average at 10 euros, and main courses average 18 to 20 euros.

Tables to book: 

On balmy evenings, choose the outside terrace for romance and sunsets over La Gomera to accompany your meal. On cooler evenings or if the breeze is the wrong side of bracing, move inside for the views without the windswept look.
