Gourmet food in a lovely setting at incredibly good value.
The a la carte restaurant of the Costa Adeje Gran Hotel , which is open to non residents with its own entrance, is one of the best meals I've eaten in the south of Tenerife. When I first perused the menu and saw the prices I feared I might be in for an inferior dinner - I couldn't have been more wrong.
Food and drink:
This is traditional Canarian fused with Mediterranean and given the gourmet make-over. Ingredients are local specialities such as the award-winning goats' cheese.
Recommended dishes:
The Chocolate Surprise is legendary.
Ambience:
It's a bit formal and quiet for my liking, with mainly mature British and German couples staying in the hotel's suites.
Service:
Professional and deferential but can be a bit slow when the restaurant is full and the pressure is on.
Location:
It's overlooking the beautiful rooftop swimming pools of the Costa Adeje Gran Hotel.

Starters average €8; main courses average €9.50; sweets average €4.20
A good selection of Canarian and Spanish wines range from €9 to €40.
