Exemplary Italian food with panoramic views over Copenhagen.
You can't fault the location or the drama of dining at Alberto K. High up above its host hotel, it offers majestic views of the city, which are especially romantic at night as the lights twinkle into the horizon. If you can tear your gaze from the windows, the modern Italian food should wow you.
Food and drink:
The locally-sourced seafood and game is given sublime treatment here and there's an extensive wine list to pair it with.
Recommended dishes:
King crab with buttermilk and tomato; scallop with wild mushroom and fennel; pigeon with roast marrow; and baked plums with liquorice give a good cross section of the terrific pairings of ingredients, flavours and texture here.
Ambience:
One of the most romantic spots in town, the room and the views ooze class and a sense of occasion.
Service:
Very impressive. Everything runs as if on castors here.
Location:
Central and towering over the city centre, it's among the most spectacular dining locations in town.
Price advice:
The business lunch, which costs 750 krone for three courses, two glasses of wine and coffee, is a reasonable way to sample Alberto K without completely breaking the bank.
