The Cape Town face of this global gourmet brand lives up to expectations.
I've had three meals at Nobu in the past year and each has been outstanding. Granted, it's a pricey experience but the care and intensity that goes into the production of each dish, the quality of ingredients and the delicate flavour journey each mouthful holds is worth every penny.
Food and drink:
Contemporary Japanese cuisine. Interesting cocktails, authentic sake and wines to match too.
Recommended dishes:
There are some dishes that remain etched in my mind off the menu here - the miso cured black cod is famous but it'll break the bank, their rock shrimp tempura is fabulous, the pork belly is the stuff of dreams. The staff are so well trained here I have taken to asking them to make my decisions for me - the results are always interesting and mouth-watering. Don't forget the chocolate bento box - wow!

An understated elegance abounds at this stylised eatery.

Among the best service I've experienced in the city.
