Best for Cheap eats - Expert review of Monsieur Vuong
Cheap eats do not compromise the quality of this Vietnamese restaurant's menu, which has a legendary reputation around town and a perpetually buzzing atmosphere.
Monsieur Vuong serves light, simple Vietnamese dishes. Along with a brief printed menu, the chalkboard displays a couple of daily specials. The entire menu changes every few days, but you can always count on fresh Vietnamese soups, noodles and dishes such as goi bo (spicy beef salad). The venue also sells delicious fruit cocktails and exotic teas with flavours such as artichoke and jasmine.
The restaurant is often crowded and tends to be popular with fashionable Mitte-types and the occasional visiting celebrity. Interiors are bright with pepper-red coloured walls and meals are served in beautiful dishware.
Friendly and very efficient.
In Mitte, close to Weinmeisterstraße U-Bahn, the restaurant is well located for a dinner before going out clubbing, or a lunch break while shopping at the nearby boutiques.
A bowl of noodle soup will set you back around 6-7 euros.
