Expert review of Amrit
In a city generally devoid of superior Indian cuisine, Amrit is leading the way - especially from its buzzing Kreuzberg location.
Amrit's curries tend to be served in generous portions, though perhaps ask for extra spice if you like it zingy. The range of appetizers and supplements is great too, with the mixed plates of naan, sauces, cheese and meatballs proving highly popular.
The brightly-coloured interior features leafy plants and Eastern-style statues. The restaurant is often crowded and has a pre-party atmosphere, especially during Happy Hour.
Staff are friendly but sometimes a little rushed.
In the eclectic neighbourhood of Kreuzburg, a short stroll from the Gorlitzer Bahnhof U-Bahn station.
Around 10 euros for a curry and around 3 euros for extras such as naan or chapati.
There are two other locations throughout the city; one in Schoneburg, close to the Ku’damm, and one 800-capacity branch in Mitte.
