Expert review of Drac Café
Sitting in the crook of the L-shaped Modernista building that until recently housed the zoology museum, the Drac Café is the only decent watering-hole in the bosky Parc de la Ciutadella.
As well as healthy breakfasts – yoghurt, cereal, toast with various toppings, there’s a beefier list of salads, pasta dishes, guacamole with nachos, humus and that kind of thing. A long, long list of coffees and teas is one of the better selections in Barcelona.
It’s a peaceful spot, with plenty of outdoor tables (it’s basically a kiosk), with gas heaters for winter and machines pumping a fine watery mist in summer.
When all the tables are full, service is at a bit of a premium, but it generally comes with a smile.
At the north end of the park, near the entrance at the bottom of Passeig Lluís Companys.
Lunch dishes are around 8 euros.
