Frequently Asked Questions - How the site works

Really? Darn, that's disappointing.

Remember it costs nothing to stay and, if you have written a guide, you could earn some cash. We don't pester you with emails and you can opt out of the newsletter at any time.

Still want to leave us... then email editorial@simonseeks.com quoting your username and D.O.B. Make sure you email us from the email address you used to register with the site so we know it's you.

You’re free to search for and read articles on the site without registering but if you do sign up you can receive our newsletter telling you about site developments. Registering also allows you to rank and make comments on guides.

No worries. Click request new password and follow the instructions.

No worries - you can log in using your email address.

You don’t have to belong to any professional body, have any journalistic qualifications or even be previously published to write for Simonseeks - but you do need to be able to write guides that people want to read, that give the inside knowledge on a place, that really inspire. So no, you don’t have to be a professional travel writer, but we are after a high standard of quality writing – not just a two-line hotel review!

Monetised links are essentially links in articles from which the site can make money.  If you add links within the body of your article we can’t readily identify them. If, however, you follow the instructions on the Write Article page and add your hotels in the special Hotel Recommendation box then we can easily identify these links and monetise them. Then, whenever anyone makes a booking through that link, the site makes more money.  And more money, means more (and bigger) prizes.
