It takes all types
From a water park for the little ones and quad bike riding for thrill-seeking teenagers to seaside fashion shows and boutiques for the shopaholics, a slick new beachfront gym for the body conscious (and those who like to watch!) and more cool beach bars and clubs per kilometre than anywhere else on the island, Playa d’en Bossa offers something for everyone.
Dance in the daylight
A couple of years ago, serious changes were introduced into Ibiza’s clubs, meaning they could no longer open before 4.30pm in the afternoon, nor stay open for marathon 24 hour sessions, thus hampering the famous daytime clubbing scene. With most clubs now (with the exception of Space on Sunday and DC10 on Monday) open from midnight until 6am, Playa d’en Bossa stepped up to the plate for the party people, as one new beach club after the other began springing up, bringing with it amazing daytime parties – where the world’s most famous DJs will jump behind the decks unannounced – and restoring peace in the clubbing world. And it couldn’t be more perfect – I’d much rather dance on the sand, in the sun, than in a dark and smoky club any day. It’s the ultimate in multi-tasking: tanning while you dance!
There’s more than meets the eye
It’s not just the long strip of Bossa that’s been attracting more and more attention over the past five years. Just around the corner are the World Heritage Listed salt flats, a stunning view at any time of the day or night, but particularly at sunset, and also where you may spot wild flamingoes nesting in September and October, plus the laidback beaches of Es Cavallet (famous for being gay-friendly and also very popular with nudists) and the iconic Las Salinas (boasting another cool beach bar scene, though slightly more tame) just a little further past the glistening salt plains.
