It's safe

There’s low crime in Singapore, and I would feel safe on the streets of an evening by myself.

Shop 'til you drop

There’s practically a shopping centre on every corner and they seem to keep on building more and more. From the branded goods in the mega malls on Orchard Road to cultural enclaves of Little India, Chinatown and Kampong Glam where you can find ethnic products, jewellery and textiles – shopping here is a past time in itself.

Cultural diversity

Singapore is a melting pot of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western cultures. It’s evident in the food, languages, customs and festivals. Intermarriage and integration helped knit these diverse influences into the fabric of Singapore’s society, giving it a vibrant and diverse cultural heritage.

Open late

Most shops stay open until at least 9:30-10pm. While many eating-houses are opening until the wee hours of the morning.

Changi Airport is a dream

I’ve never queued for longer than 20 minutes for check-in, immigration or baggage collection. There’s a multitude of shops, restaurants and there’s even a swimming pool for those of you who have an extended layover.

The perfect hub

Singapore is in an ideal location for long-haul travellers. If you have a brief stopover, you can get into the city in less than 20 minutes. If you choose to stay in the airport, you’ll never be bored. And if you don’t like the Singapore city experience, you are only a plane, boat or train ride away from any number of nearby destinations like Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand.
