Wanted: food and drink guides

To complement the practical information on our new expert pages, we are looking for guides from you, the Simonseeks writing community.

So, do you know where to find the best tapas in Barcelona, or the most mouth-watering pasta in Venice? Or the best Bouillabaisse in Marseille, or the tastiest pizza in Rome? If so, why not write a guide and share your knowledge? We are looking for guides on the best restaurants, cafés and bars in London, New York City, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam, Madrid, Venice, Cannes, Marseille, Monaco, Nice, Provence and St-Tropez. Your recommendations don’t have to be expensive. In fact, some of the most popular guides on the site are budget guides.

The guides will appear on a new food and drink page for each of these top destinations, and could benefit from increased traffic and, therefore, increased revenue. When you write your guide, tag it with both the relevant destination (so if it’s about Nice, choose Nice as your destination) and choose ‘food and drink’ as a trip type (you can still select up to three in total). This will ensure your guide is featured in the relevant place.

Also, before you get scribbling, don’t forget to take a look at our writing tips and our top-rated guides for inspiration.

We look forward to reading your guides.

Hi Cathy,

Food is one of my favourite subjects, all my guides have a focus on food. However, 2 places I have not written much about are the places I know best, London and Sydney. This is because I grew up in the latter and live in London currently, so I have little reason to ever stay in hotels in either. Do these guides still need hotel recommendations? Or can they focus solely on food and drink?

Thanks,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,

Thank you for your question. Although we are looking for food and drink guides, they should still work as useful travel guides and, ideally, include at least one hotel recommendation. Most readers will have to travel to enjoy the restaurants/bars/cafes that you recommend.

I look forward to reading your guides.

Thanks,
Cathy
