Expert review of Osborne Hotel
On a typical narrow Valletta street in a building dating to the time of the Knights of St John, the Osborne has a welcoming atmosphere, whether it's summer or winter, and is ideally located for sightseeing. Valletta is a wonderful place to stay if you are into history and culture and enjoy people-watching and soaking the place up. Unfortunately this tiny city sorely lacks visitor accommodation. The Osborne is one of just four within its walls.
Very convenient and typically Vallettan, round the corner from the Museum of Fine Arts and almost opposite Hastings Gardens, which sits atop the inland fortifications of the city. The hotel is within walking distance of all the sites and restaurants of the capital, and just a few minutes stroll from the main bus station, giving cheap and easy access to the rest of the country.
The 59 rooms are quite variable. All are unpretentious en suite rooms, most quite colourful and comfortable and some recently refurbished. Only very few have views - those that do have really good ones out over the rooftops of Valletta. There are several bedrooms that are windowless or effectively windowless (having just a small floor-level window). It is worth talking to the hotel about room allocation.

Warm and welcoming downstairs rooms, cosy in winter; a summer roof terrace with jacuzzi plunge pool.
Inexpensive but not recommended. Valletta has a wealth of good restaurants just minutes away.
Straightforward and helpful.
