Expert review of Naumi
Naumi is a small design hotel situated in the heart of Singapore’s central business district. This a hidden city retreat aimed at the style conscious, without being pretentious.
Most tourist attractions and shops are within walking distance and the famous Raffles hotel is next door. Bugis MRT is a short walk away and it only takes 20 minutes to get to Changi Airport. Some taxi drivers might have trouble finding this hotel, despite it being opened for a number of years now - but I found if you could say ‘Seah Street’ with the right accent, this usually did the trick.
I loved the fresh clean lines and contemporary design of the rooms here. The premier rooms are on the small side, but the next level up – the deluxe room – is vastly bigger with a separate sitting area. All rooms come with an iPod docking station and Nespresso coffee machine. The sixth floor is women-only, where the rooms come with a premium toiletries bag and hair straighteners.

The lobby and lounge area is a quiet sanctuary from the busy streets of Singapore. Guests can enjoy the origami garden-inspired motifs, reclining in the designer furniture, while watching the streets outside through the full-length glass windows.
The Lounge Bar doubles as a casual dining area, offering healthy Asian and Western à la carte dishes as well as a set lunch and dinner menu. But for a fraction of the price, you could pop out to any of the local eateries down the same street.
The skinny infinity pool has a wonderful view of the Singapore skyline. Though there is no dedicated bar or attendants around the pool area, tapas and beverages can be ordered via the phone. There’s a small gym area as well as a dedicated yoga room.
Guests are assigned a Naumi aide on arrival, a staff member dedicated to your every need – I found they were best utilised to bring XBox or Wii consoles to your room.

Hip young holiday makers and business travellers.
Free WiFi and complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar are included in the room price, which isn’t a bad deal. The premium rooms are on the small size, if your budget allows, I’d upgrade to a deluxe room for almost double the space.
