Relaxed and peaceful oasis in serene surroundings with first-class service.
Hospes Hotels is an exclusive chain of 4-5 star luxury spa hotels in sumptuously restored old palaces and historical buildings, and Las Casas del Rey de Baeza in Seville is no exception. It's built around a pair of beautiful traditional interior patios and provides all the services you'd expect along with very personable and helpful service. The public areas are so inviting that I feel like I could live there full time.
Location:
A little off the beaten track in a small square off a quiet side street, but still within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas, the Barrio Santa Cruz, and the main attractions and monuments.
Bedrooms:
The 41 bedrooms have a comfortable rustic charm, and are beautifully decorated in soft creams, blues and taupes. Spotlessly clean, the emphasis is on comfort and a good night's sleep. Extra nice touches are the Egyptian cotton bed linen and fresh flowers in all the rooms. A DVD player is available upon request. There is also one room equipped for the disabled.

Public areas:
The two simply furnished patios are perfect for having breakfast or a drink out in the fresh air. They lead into a lounge area and a library/meeting room, both richly furnished in wood and leather, with terracotta floor tiling and soft natural light from two interior garden patios. There is one computer available for guests in the lounge and free WiFi throughout the hotel. The pool and solarium are also open to the public.
Eating and drinking:
Excellent Andalusian fare is available at the Restaurant Senzone (a la carte menu), either in the restaurant itself or outside in one of the patios, and there is a bar by the rooftop pool.
Leisure facilities:
The Bodyna spa is located on the rooftop and offers massage and spa treatments, along with a sauna, fitness room, open air pool and terrace solarium.
Service:
Multi-lingual staff (Spanish, English, French, German) who are genuinely helpful and friendly. You are also given a nice info pack of places to see, including a list of tapas bars and restaurants (though the latter needs to be updated).
