Expert review of Aimia Hotel
Despite its rather blocky appearance, the Aimia has a pleasing, contemporary elegance to it that makes it stand out from similar places elsewhere on the Majorcan coast. Contemporary décor, attention to small details and abundant facilities create a very easy place to while away a week or two in the sun.
Literally a couple of metres from the beach and easy walking distance from the port's other bars and restaurants. Handy if you want some semblance of nightlife.
Amazingly, nearly all of the 43 rooms here have sea views (though I do recommend you specify this is what you want when booking, just in case). All have been done in a contemporary, clean-lined style - fresh, muted colours, soft lighting, extra space for desks and sofas - as well as being spacious, and spotlessly clean. Split into standard double, superior double and the jewel in the crown: a penthouse suite with private terrace, Jacuzzi and fab views of the port.

The various lounge bars, terraces and restaurants make good use of colour, comfortable furniture and light-reflecting mirrors to give it a groovier vibe. Aimia's terrace is one of the nicest places in the area for nighttime dining or drinks. The pool is a decent size for a few laps and the decked terrace around it perfect for catching a few rays in relative peace.
Again, the standard is high and the options are many. Expect a generous breakfast buffet, and high-quality, inventive Mediterranean cooking at the unfortunately named Airecel restaurant (it always makes me think of batteries). Regardless, I’m a big fan of the goats' cheese salad with spiced, poached pears followed by a hunk of simply grilled fish with lemon-caper butter. A coffee bar for that mid-afternoon caffeine hit, and a pleasing cocktail and chill-out zone for mooching into the night, round out the package nicely.
The spa offers basic treatments and a very pleasant wet room with sauna and Jacuzzi. There’s also a small, little-used gym for anyone who wants to keep up their workouts.
Nothing is too much trouble. Repeat guests are remembered. Can’t fault it.

Great for families and couples who come from both Europe and the US.
Quite good on packages and special offers. The further in advance you can book, the better the deal you’re likely to get.
