Expert review of Hotel du Levant
With its setting in the heart of the most touristy part of the Latin Quarter, you'd perhaps expect an impersonal place that only caters to groups, instead the Lévant is a pleasant surprise, a longstanding, independent family-run hotel where they take good care of their clients.
In the web of semi-pedestrianised medieval streets off boulevard St-Michel. The Musée de Cluny, St-Germain and Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris are all nearby and you really can walk from here to most of the places you'd want to get to.
Some of the 47 rooms are very very red and pink but I prefer their cheerful OTTness to the older rooms with slightly tacky murals. All are slightly different, some have an Art Deco touch in the furnishings. And there are also rooms big enough for families.

There are armchairs in the reception and a vaguely 20s theme to corridors hung with photos of vintage fashions.
Buffet breakfast, included in the price, served in a breakfast room with blowsy murals.
Staff are welcoming and helpful; many have worked here for years.
