Expert review of Hôtel Royal Saint-Honoré
The Royal Saint Honoré was the first place I ever stayed at in Paris – a long time ago, in a previous incarnation of both it and me. It's been rather smartly redone since then but remains a great option if you're looking for somewhere reassuringly traditional, discretely chic and distinctively Parisian.
Perfect holiday location whether you're after shopping or sightseeing. The rue St-Honoré is a vibrant artery yet quiet by night. Miu Miu just across the street, cult concept store Colette a few doors away and Musée du Louvre and the Tuileries just a couple of minutes walk.
72 rooms and suites are comfortable Napoleon III style with dark wood bedheads and cane chairs. Some 5th floor rooms have balconies. Two room suites can be arranged as two interconnecting bedrooms for families.

There is a Neo-Classical lobby with shiny marble floor and antique furniture.
Buffet breakfast is served in a bright, spacious room with original 18th-century panelling. The red-lacquered Café 221, entered either through the hotel or direct from the street, is a useful addition, serving croques, big salads and assorted hot dishes all day from noon to 11pm. Room service meals are also available.
Reception staff are friendly and English speaking.
