A happening property that's a stone's throw from Chelsea and Meatpacking area
This former base for sailors has been cleverly turned into a boutique hotel. I particularly like the feeling that you have your entertainment right on site including two great restaurants, one Italian and one Japanese, and a lovely, big terrace for drinks when the weather is balmy.
Location:
On the West Side of Manhattan close to the art galleries of Chelsea, the great shopping of the Meatpacking neighborhood and only a short walk to the wonderful new Highline park.
Bedrooms:
I am not wild about the nautical design which verge on the kitsch but having said that the porthole windows with views of Hudson river and New Jersey give it a great sense of place.

Two excellent eateries: La Bottega, the Italian option and Matsuri, a sexy spot for sushi.
