Expert review of Paramount
This was one of New York's first boutique hotels, designed by Phillipe Starck, and it has stood up well, with a great central location and friendly service. I remember when it was one of the only cool places to stay near Times Square and despite quite a lot of competition it's a good choice for the price.
Right by Times Square. For some sightseers this is smack bang in the most happening spot in town but for some the energy of these streets is too frenetic.
Boutique chic: minimalist but with splashes of color to keep the decor from feeling cold. Bedrooms are very small but comfy with nice bedding and plush pillows plus well stocked bathrooms. Ask for a higher floor for less noise from the hub bub in the streets below. And beware the noisy air conditioning units.

A lovely lobby with an oversized chandelier and funky furniture, plus a small gym and business center.
The Mezzanine restaurant is nothing special but the Library Bar is a great spot for a cocktail and to meet up with a friend.
Sometimes boutique hotels don't have the warmest or most helpful staff. Luckily the team at the Paramount exceeds expectations.
