A rooftop pool makes this New York City hotel a stand-out with the party crowd.
If you are looking for a hotel with a rooftop pool and amazing views of the skyline this might be the spot for you. But you should be young and ready to party to really get the place. This is a nightlife epicenter in New York's nightlife center!
Location:
In the heart of the meatpacking district close to the 'hood's main clubs, restaurants and across the street from the city's new Highline Park. There is also good shopping, like a flagship Apple store and a huge Scoop outpost.
Bedrooms:
Rooms are fine but not spectacular; done in neutral shades with bright accents. This was the neighborhood's first design hotel and it's showing its age a bit. But a renovation is in the works.

Public areas:
All the public areas feel a bit like a club and downstairs at night there is always a parade of people going to the nightlife area. If you want to see and be seen this is the right spot, but I think it feels a bit too much unless you are under the age of 30.
Eating and drinking:
Have a drink at the rooftop bar for epic views of the city. The restaurant is okay but I prefer spots like Spice Market, Pastis and Standard Grill - they are just across the street.
Leisure facilities:
I love the rooftop pool that's open all year round. It's heated, there's piped-in music underwater, and now, thankfully, it's reserved for hotel guests only. I also love the Exhale Spa (don't miss the Core Fusion classes) and the complimentary WiFi.
Service:
As can be expected at a one-stop party nexus, the staff can seem a bit fatigued at all the crowd control. Nonetheless most of them do try to fulfill guest requests.
