Best for Families - Expert review of Jurys Inn Liverpool
The second-biggest hotel in Liverpool by capacity, with 310 rooms, Jurys Inn opened in 2008 and offers clean, functional accommodation. I like the large, light public spaces.
Down on the waterfront next to the Arena and Convention Centre, and also very close to the Albert Dock. The walk to and from town can feel like a schlep, but you can get a cab from the back door and it’s a pleasant, relatively peaceful spot with some attractive views.
Expect functional doubles or twins with furniture in that American Tan shade of wood particular to large hotels. The décor is old-style Jurys Inn, with mustard throws and red carpets. Bathrooms are fine. The Liverpool hotel is the only Jurys Inn to have suites. Three were installed at the top of the building so that it could act as political headquarters during party conferences. If you want to live it up Clegg-style, you’ll need to know that they are sold as large doubles.

The lobby is light and airy and there’s plenty of seating. There’s complimentary WiFi throughout the ground floor (there’s a £10 charge for in-room wired connections). National Trust minibus tours to the Beatles’ childhood homes pick up from the lobby.
The large bar is open to residents until 3am at the weekend and in the restaurant, where breakfast is served buffet style, there’s also a carvery before events at the Arena. For a more interesting dinner, you might choose to investigate the options at Albert Dock and Liverpool ONE.
Though the check-in desk is fully manned, things can move very slowly as busy periods. Staff look smart and have a thorough knowledge of their facilities.

Anyone looking for something decent at a reasonable price. It’s a political HQ during conference season and attracts lots of business delegates as well as Arena and football attendees. There's space for families.
Rates are room-only, with breakfast £8.50 per person and children under 12 eating for free.
