So this is how the other half live! I may not have been here for long, but I more than made the most of it, finding daily excuses to stay in because I loved it so much. Immersed in culture, being waited on hand and foot, spectacular views and palatial rooms, what’s not to love?
Location:
This is, by far and away, my favourite location in Ibiza. The ancient walled city of Dalt Vila just oozes culture and history and always reminds me that there is so much more than you read about in the press to my beautiful island paradise. It’s about a five-minute walk down into town and the port, but at least 10 minutes on the steep road back up. Though regular cars aren’t permitted in the area, taxis thankfully are.
Bedrooms:
Can I just say: wow! Spacious and filled with beautiful natural light, bedecked with stylishly palatial furnishings, eclectic objets d’art, WiFi, plasma TV and boasting a super comfortable bed. I was gobsmacked by the pillow menu – how cool! It’s impossible not to sleep like a baby here.

Public areas:
Antique furniture fused with modern elegance, and even a red carpet-lined staircase, I was overwhelmed by the feeling that I’d entered a palace. Attention to detail is evident in every nook and cranny – I can honestly say it was a pleasure to lounge about waiting for a taxi at night.
Eating and drinking:
The restaurant is so exclusive there are only six tables, so be sure to let reception know if you plan on eating here. Expect only the best, finest ingredients – lobster, foie gras, fresh seafood, delectable duck and more. The menu is very rich in taste, yet surprisingly not so hard on the wallet.
Leisure facilities:
There’s a plunge pool out the back – it’s quite a small space, but right under the castle walls, so a really amazing experience… I love the little bridge leading out to it, fairytale style.
Service:
Exceptional and very attentive, though it can be a little too formal for my liking at times. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need and are prompt and knowledgeable in helping when you need assistance, whether it's calling a cab, ordering room service or getting your hands on club tickets.

Who stays there:
Older travellers with a taste for luxury, couples wanting to escape the hectic island pace, and honeymooners. Book early, as it tends to be in demand all year round.
Price advice:
Out of season prices tend to be cheaper and breakfast isn’t included in the price - be prepared for the cost of breakfast: a cool 30 euros per person.
