Expert review of Cas Gasi
A little bit of bohemian charm meets traditional Mediterranean style with a splash of hi-tech thrown in for good measure; Cas Gasi is all this and more, seamlessly fusing all these elements to create the home-away-from-home in Ibiza I’d always dreamed of. A true island gem.
Set on the outskirts of the Santa Gertrudis countryside, Cas Gasi is about a 15-minute drive to Ibiza Town and 10 minutes from beautiful beaches. While it feels like you are a world away once inside the grounds, I found it comforting to know all of the Ibiza action is not too far away.
No two rooms are alike at Cas Gasi, and I was lucky enough to go on a tour and see almost all of them. There are some great interconnecting options for families; romantic, decadent styles for couples; and simple, country-style rooms for those who love their creature comforts. Speaking of creature comforts, I’m obsessed with the Molton Brown toiletries, Egyptian cotton sheets and the fact that WiFi is in every room.

Just ten years ago, Cas Gasi was the family home of owners Margaret, Luis and their children and the multiple lounge areas still have that comforting, lived-in feeling. Margaret has been sourcing furniture, artefacts and art from all over the globe for years, so it feels like you’re lounging ion the home of a well-travelled relative. I love the reading room, with a special section dedicated to books and literature on Ibiza (including some Ibiza films too, for those who can’t be bothered reading). Perfect for curling up next to the fireplace in winter or by the pool in summer.
Cas Gasi boasts its own fruit orchards, veggie patch and small farm area, and prides its restaurant – open to guests only – on serving only the freshest seasonal produce on a daily basis, whether it be your fresh farm eggs at breakfast (so yummy) or the line-caught fish for dinner cooked in their hand-pressed olive oil served with salad fresh from the garden.
A sparkling eight-metre pool complete with outdoor lounging areas, day beds and sun loungers awaits and, if that isn’t relaxing enough for you, there’s also a space-age spa tucked away in a custom-built bungalow out the back. But remember to book your treatment in advance, as therapists aren’t on-site.
After staying here once, I felt like Margaret was like my cool Ibiza aunty – she knows everything and everyone and nothing is too much hassle, a trait which all of the staff at Cas Gasi possess. As a complete aside, I fell in love with Margaret’s dogs while I was there too… pets as therapy is all just part of the service.

Cas Gasi is very family friendly, and you’re just as likely to find a young European family by the pool next to a pair of young professionals from London or a wedding group from France. Cas Gasi has hosted its fair share of celebrities too – Kate Moss and Robert De Niro are two of the most famous names.
While most things, including breakfast and use of the gym, are included in your room rate, spa treatments come at an additional cost.
