Idyllic rural escape where its totally encouraged to just sit back, relax and breathe…
At first glance, it could be a farmhouse from a Hollywood movie, what with its wraparound porch, arched entrance, lush green gardens and colourful flowers, but on further inspection, this is all indeed real and a stunning representation of the “other” side of Ibiza – I’m talking peace, tranquility and total escape from reality.
Location:
Just a short drive from the famous beach of Benirras, the port and cute little village of San Miguel and close to local attractions such as caves and vineyards, it’s a great base for exploring the island’s north. My favourite thing about the entire area is the abundance of pine forests making the air smell so fresh.
Bedrooms:
Cool terracotta floors, chic whiten linen, stone walls and exposed beams in the ceiling – yes indeed, it’s traditional Ibicenco all the way, just the way I like it. Plus it's very quiet, I had one of the best nights sleep of my life here.

Public areas:
Downstairs you’ll find a lounge area that’s generally really quiet, given that most guests go exploring by day and head out for dinner at night. There’s also WiFi and a laptop for you to use.
Eating and drinking:
While there’s no official restaurant on the premises, your morning breakfast is seriously amazing – a typically Spanish feast of cold meats, cheese and fruits straight from the orchards outside. I feel corny saying it, but you can tell that so much love goes into everything here… especially the homemade lemonade! Shame there are no lunch or dinner options.
Leisure facilities:
A great swimming pool is essential in rural hotels in my opinion: essential to beat the heat in peak season. This one ticks all the right boxes: big, cool and surrounded by plenty of comfortable sun beds to recline on.
Service:
I felt like a princess – the hotel’s owner Joan is renowned for his hospitality and he lived up to his reputation. I want him to be my uncle so I can visit more often.

Who stays there:
Mostly couples on romantic holidays or honeymoons, bohemian types and the occasional family.
Price advice:
Breakfast is included in the room rate. If, like me, you’re travelling alone you get a 20 per cent discount in the low season, but unfortunately not in high. For groups, additional guests cost 60 euros, while for families, kids under 14 are charged just 36 euros.
