Expert review of Rick's
Rick's Hotel consists of 10 well-put-together boutique rooms with all the bells and whistles you'd expect; they sit above the well-established and popular Rick's bar. Don't let the fact you are staying above the bar put you off, as the rooms are surprisingly quiet. The same group also own Tigerlily and The Opal Lounge, which are just around the corner and are very hip and happening places to eat, drink and dance the night away - so there are lots of inclusive deals to be done.
Frederick Street is just off George Street and perfect for getting round the city. You are one minute from Princes Street, three minutes from Waverley Train Station and on main routes for cabs and buses.
All furniture is custom-designed in dark wood. You get wall to wall warm oatmeal carpets; luxurious designer floor length curtains; cosy cashmere throws on the huge beds; CD and DVD player with a library of music and films; and a desk with all sockets required (this is a place busines people stay due to the location). There's also free WiFi.
Breakfast is served downstairs in Rick's from 7am-noon and there is room service available, though not all night.
Friendly, young staff know how to make you feel welcome.
Young couples, party animals, shoppers, singles, the girls, the boys, the business crowd too.
