Expert review of Santa Rosa Apartments
Top-value hotel with excellent facilities - especially good for families.
This is one of my top choices for value and friendliness. The low-rise, low-key complex is understandably often full, even outside of the summer months, and it always feels to me like a home away from home. Whether you choose to self cater, go half board or all-inclusive, this is excellent value for a three star.
Location:
On a main road in the resort which is lined with restaurants and shops.
Bedrooms:
Rooms are tastefully, though simply furnished in neutral colours and a decent size. The bungalows are very convenient for those with mobility problems or with young children and have pleasant terraces. Ask for a room away from the main road, which can be noisy at night.

Public areas:
Spacious pool area with some landscaping, with a lawn area and some trees. I do find the dull yellow paintwork and extensive concrete a little oppressive.
Eating and drinking:
Guests here can opt for a self-catering, half-board or all-inclusive package. There is a buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and pool bar offering drinks and snacks. I would say the food is adequate rather than gourmet, but very good for the price.
Leisure facilities:
For a three star this hotel has a lot going for it: bowling, mini golf, tennis courts, sauna, gym, kids’ club and evening entertainment. The toys supplied for use by the pool are a nice touch.
Service:
The receptionists and waiting staff are pleasant, and the cleaners are especially efficient.

Who stays there:
Spanish, Germans and British, with more Scandinavians in winter. Mostly younger couples and families on a budget.
Price advice:
Limited free parking is available to all guests. Often special deals are available for families and during off-season periods. As there is no air conditioning, it is probably worth hiring a fan during the hottest months.
