The cream of Costa Adeje exclusivity at prices below its iconic neighbours.
Spanish colonial style in a high end location. The Tacande may not deliver the range of facilities and the wow factor of its more prestigious neighbours but it shares the same location and has style, romance and character of its own at a considerably lower cost.
Location:
On a promontory overlooking Playa Del Duque on one side and along the coast to Fañabé on the other with great views and romantic sunsets over the neighbouring island of La Gomera. The Dream Gran Tacande rubs shoulders with the Bahia del Duque in the exclusive heartland of Costa Adeje. The paradise beach of Playa Del Duque, high end shopping and upmarket restaurants are on the doorstep.
Bedrooms:
Cane furniture and twin beds pushed together beneath a wooden canopy with a single draped curtain lend the rooms a Canarian colonial style. The floor space is generous and decor is in warm terracotta colours. A sea view will cost an upgrade. Junior suites have partial sea view, walk in wardrobe and Jacuzzi and jet massage shower.

Public areas:
The Gran Tacande is a fusion of Spanish colonial style and Moorish influences, with high arched porticos, cane and antique furniture, leaded windows and exotic plant displays.
Eating and drinking:
The main terrace overlooking the pools is the sunny venue for buffet style meals. Breakfasts are plentiful, fresh and hot with plenty of choice whether you’re continental style or full English. Evenings feature themed dining and the show cooking chefs are very generous with their cuts of roast meat and their seafood specials.
Leisure facilities:
Grounds are beautifully laid out around three impressive swimming pools. A gate leads from the grounds to the coastal promenade and the Playa del Duque beach. The rather splendid Vitanova Spa and Wellbeing Centre is the place to head for some seriously soothing pampering. Alternating between the sauna and the ice cave is a refreshing experience that leaves your skin feeling soft and ready to be placed in the expert hands of the masseurs.
Service:
Informal and friendly by day morphing to slightly more formal in the evenings with men expected to wear long trousers for the dinner service. Bar staff are chatty and happy to spill the beans about the local hotspots.
