This converted factory offers inventive accommodations to suit a range of budgets.
The Michelberger is the kind of hotel that aims for the stars and hits the moon. My favourite thing about this place is that it has a good sense of humour (as can be seen from the website) and a commitment to creativity in terms of decor and management. It's a fun place to stay and close to plenty of great nightlife and sights.
Location:
Michelberger is located in an industrial area of East Berlin’s Friedrichshain, opposite the railway and underground station. Nightclubs including Watergate and the world-renowned Panorama Bar/Berghain complex surround the hotel. Also nearby is the East Side Gallery - the longest standing stretch of the Berlin Wall.
Bedrooms:
Each of the hotel’s 119 rooms are individually designed and include a chalet-style room; a room with a private library, and one family room that sleeps up to eight people. The ‘cosy’ room has a window shower, and the ‘Michelberger WG’ room is shared (WG means flatshare in German). All rooms are personalised with knick-knacks found at local flea markets and unique touches include exposed cables and mirrors hanging from ropes.
