Expert review of Hotel-Pension Dittberner
As far as i'm concerned, this hotel - made up of two connected apartments – packs a decent amount of charm in for the money. From the turn-of-the-century wooden cage elevator to the intimate service provided by Frau Lange (who bought the pension in 1958 and still runs it today with her daughter), it’s one of the better (and most established) pensions in this area.
The pension is located just off the Ku’damm. Savignyplatz S-Bahn is around a 10-minute walk away.
Rooms are large and some are quite grand; Suite P has a balcony, raw silk chaise longue, and a floor-to-ceiling sliding door separating the bed and living-room, for example, and another has a winter garden around the courtyard. Some of the rooms are suitable for wheelchair users and all feature high ceilings, Oriental rugs, paintings and lithographs. Wireless internet access is complimentary.
The small lobby features elegant furnishings, with art on the walls, grand chandeliers and thick carpets. The artworks come from the hotel owner’s gallery downstairs.
Breakfast is included in the rate and is served in a bright salon, decorated with antique oak furniture, wainscoting and elegant cornices. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Service is personal and very friendly.
Romantics, couples and single travellers.
Breakfast is included in the room rate. Guests staying for four nights can get a fifth night free.
