Peaceful and refined accommodation in the bustling heart of the city.
I always feel immediately comfortable entering this gem of a hotel, which occupies a 19th century house and provides an oasis of tranquiliy right in Berlin Mitte. The winding oak staircases and suits of armour provide an irresistible contrast to the vibrant modernity right on the doorstep.
Location:
Honigmond Garden Hotel is nice and centrally located, just a short walk from Friedrichstraße, Oranienburgerstraße and key sights such as the Brandenburger Tor (Gate).
Bedrooms:
The hotel has a total of 60 bedrooms spread throughout two different buildings (the main building is just 300 metres from the Garden Hotel). The Garden Hotel offers the cheapest rooms yet still offers tremendous charm in a building that dates from 1845. All rooms are uniquely decorated, with special touches that include iron-frame beds, framed paintings, antiques and wooden floors. Some rooms also have four-poster beds. Rooms overlook either the street or the garden, but note that street-facing rooms can be noisy although they are generally larger than garden-facing rooms. Also available are garden cottages with kitchens and skylights.

Public areas:
The Honigmond is all about the garden, with its Koi pond and fountain. It's the perfect place to relax after a day's shopping, or for a lunchtime read. There's also a pleasant lounge (with an honesty bar) to relax in.
Eating and drinking:
Honigmond Restaurant, which first opened in 1920, is conveniently located in the hotel’s main building and serves traditional German cuisine. There's also a lunchtime buffet, and coffee and cakes are served throughout the day.
Service:
In keeping with the Honigmond atmosphere, the owners are very friendly and hospitable, going out of their way to make guests feel at home.

Who stays there:
The hotel's name - it means “honeymoon” in English - says it all. Couples and romantics will love it here, though its central location makes it a pretty good option for anyone.
